Elephants Destroy the Maize Farm at New Dawn Tanzania

Summary:

Looking at them in the national park is so wonderful but when it comes to their destruction it is so bad. The presence of elephants from the Mkomazi national park found in Samé district is still a problem in our school.
Being near to the Mkomazi national park, our school is facing a problem of elephant’s invasion. The elephants have been coming in our school to search for water and pasture. Elephants are using maize and vegetables as their food. Early this month our school was invaded by the group of elephants at night. These elephants were searching food. They entered in the school farm which was well flourished. They ate more than acre of maize which was expected to be the part of school food for the students
This becomes among the big losses in our community because the elephants brought destruction in the farm which could help us in the area of food. It is so bad also because it has brought the loss since a lot of money was used to run the farm.
On the side of the government, Tanzania government has continued to give education on how to chase and avoid the elephants to the people found in the areas which are always highly affected by elephant’s invasion. The government is also giving instruments which are used to chase the elephants such as vuvuzela and dynamite because elephants dislike noises.
The citizens are still complaining about the elephant’s problem since the money refunded through the loss they got is not enough as it doesn’t meet the cost used to run the farm. On our side we say that this is very bad because the animals have brought big loss in our school and it threaten our life.
