Summary:
“Being among the best choirs in Kilimanjaro region, New Dawn secondary school choir has made another history by singing in the big government event of launching of the Same- Mwanga- Korogwe water project which was officially launched by the Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan.”

On March 9, 2025 it was another marvellous day for our school’s choir. Our choir was invited to perform in the launching of the big water project called Same- Mwanga- Korogwe Project. The launching event was attended by our president Honourable Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan who officially launched the project. There were also other government ministers, Regional commissioners and other leaders.

The Same-Mwanga- Korogwe project will provide approximately 51.65 million liters of water to people across the three districts of Same, Mwanga and Korogwe by ensuring better access to clean water.
         
As the community we are so much excited and we thank God to see our choir developing. We can remember last year, we were invited to sing in the World Tree Planting Day whereby the guest of honour was the vice President of Tanzania, Dr. Phillip Mpango.

We thank our God so much for the favour he gave us.

In a recent video call with NDC USA Director Ron Sukut, Bishop Dr. Steven Mshomi, director of New Dawn Community in Tanzania, shared his praise for God’s favor that continues to cover the school, students, teachers and staff.

NDC Tanzania has been recognized and included with other private schools as well as State Government schools in the district to meet regionally. They have received academic and sports honors.

• The Youth have Aced their Midterms:  The Mid-Year exams taken by the 38 Form 4 students (seniors) are complete with 75% of the students receiving an A grade.
   
• The Government is ‘Recognizing’ our Nationally Ranked Instructors: Two teachers that have continued to show superior results at NDC Tanzania with their students. They have now been recruited to become State teachers for the Tanzania Government. This is due to their high standards in Math and Agriculture. While they will be missed by NDC this is a blessing for the county of Tanzania.
  
  
• Our Choir Won at the Regional Competitions: The student choir has been recognized as the top school choir in the region and continues to receive invitations to perform for both local and national events.
  
  
• Our Sports Teams are strong as well: The Soccer and Basketball teams are also top ranked in the region with strong performances. 

We would like to thank you, the Donors, for your continued spiritual and financial support. This is proof that your participation matters. Because of you, there have been many blessings showered on the orphan students, teachers and staff that work so hard, with what they have, to fulfill GOD’S  will in Tanzania!

We will depart Los Angeles on July 30th and returning August 12th.

The team will be spending 8 days at the New Dawn Community Campus in Tanzania to experience and share in the students’ daily lives. We will also share clinics the ministry team will provide in arts and crafts, cooking and any other “gifts” the ministry members can bring to the students. Let us know if you have a special gift or skill you would like to share. Accommodation’s will be at a nearby hotel.

Following our visit there is an option to extend the trip by visiting the Serengeti National Park and Game Reserve for 3 days and 2 nights inclusive of all lodging food and travel.
